Wisconsin Environmental Regulatory Attorney

Practical. Effective. Experienced.

Angela James founded AAJ Legal in 2017 to provide reasonably-priced, sophisticated legal counseling to Wisconsin facilities trying to develop long-term environmental compliance strategies.  She relies on her extensive experience with working directly with facility managers, plant operators, in-house counsel, or environmental professionals to offer legal advice that is understandable, practical, and effective.  She is passionate about working collaboratively with regulators, engineers and facilities in advocating for cost-effective solutions to compliance challenges.  More than anything, she enjoys learning about your business needs so that her advice can better fit your goals.

About Angela

Attorney founder

Angela James

From working as an in-house lawyer for a large gas & electric utility, to lobbying on behalf of the paper industry, to working within the firm Michael Best and Friedrich, LLP, Angela's career has consistently focused on providing sound advice to industries who require strategies that combine both technical and legal solutions.  She opened her own practice in 2017 to allow her to control pricing, and to give her more opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of the communities and industries that choose her as their lawyer. Angela has represented industrial and municipal clients large and small for nearly 20 years, and has hands-on experience with how changes in regulatory requirements and available technologies directly affect the regulated community. She maintains strong relationships with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and tracks developments in Wisconsin's legislature so that she not only reacts to the requirements of today, but can help you anticipate how regulations may affect you in the future.  Staying ahead of the law’s frequent changes in both Wisconsin and the federal level is Angela's sixth sense.
